The highly anticipated Darwin International Laksa Festival is back for its 5th year!
Now held in October, this month-long festival celebrates the diverse and flavourful world of laksa and the Territory- as well as promoting local eateries and bringing this laksa loving community together. This year’s festival promises to be bigger, better and more delicious than ever.
The Darwin Laksa Festival has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the city’s calendar. Each year thousands of laksa lovers and enthusiastic foodies roam the Territory to indulge in the delicious laksa and laksa-inspired dishes.
The festival will kick off on Sunday 1 October and finish with the Festival Finale on Sunday 29 October 2023.
The Laksa Festival comprises of two key elements:
- The Darwin International Laksa Festival Food Tour; and,
- The Darwin International Laksa Festival Finale.
The Food Tour will run from Sunday 1 October – Saturday 28 October 2023. The Food Tour encourages the community to visit as many food venues registered on the tour as possible throughout the Festival, and to try, share and vote for their favourite dishes through the official Laksa Festival website.
The Festival Finale will be held on Sunday 29 October 2023 on Laksa Lawns (Chan Lawns, in front of Parliament House). The Festival Finale will be an all-day festival celebrating all things laksa, there will be food eating competitions, cooking demonstrations, roving entertainment, food trucks and the presentation of the ‘Golden Bowl’ award and ‘People’s Choice Awards’.
