The weather has been lovely in Darwin City.

Take advantage of the beautiful weather, by trying out this delicious idea.

It's simple really, just grab a takeaway laksa from your favourite spot, pack a picnic rug, invite your favourite laksa date (or just enjoy your own company!) and head to one (or all) of these wonderful spots in Darwin City to enjoy your delicious dish.

State Square Lawns

State Square Lawns

This newly built park is unbeknown to most but it’s one of our favourites.

It’s a picturesque park with ample bench seatings, luscious green gardens and a backdrop of the Parliament House. Don’t know where to grab a laksa… you’re in luck, Rendezvous Café and Chok’s Place is just around the corner!

Esplanade

Just a stone throws away from State Square Lawns, is the expansive Darwin Esplanade.

Spanning approximately 3km, this stretch of land overlooks the Darwin Harbour surrounded by lush green lawns and giant trees. If you want a view of the water with plenty of space and shade to enjoy a laksa. Then, this spot is for you!

Stokes Hill Wharf

Another option if you are looking for a waterfront view but a little more ‘formal’ (with chairs and tables).

Then Stokes Hill Wharf is the place to be. Located at the Darwin Waterfront Precinct, this favourite local spot has a panoramic view of the Darwin Harbour. For your convenience there is also a food court in the area with various delicious laksa offerings for you to enjoy!

The Beach (Darwin Waterfront)

What’s better than jumping straight to the cool water after eating a spicy bowl of soup?

If you can’t handle the heat of laksa and need to cool down, then The Beach at the Darwin Waterfront is the spot for you! A massive plus… you don’t have to worry about deadly marine creatures like crocodiles and sharks! 2023 Golden Bowl Winner, CHOW! is right around the corner too.

Cullen Bay

Want to enjoy a laksa while enjoying Darwin’s famous sunset? Think no further, Cullen Bay is a great choice!

Along with your favourite laksa we recommend bringing a picnic mat, because we guarantee you will be spending hours at this beautiful site.
