YUMMO! Laksa Festival

We are heading to Melbourne, laksa lovers!

Get ready to ditch the winter chills and join the summer fun at YUMMO! Laksa Festival, a vibrant celebration of culinary excellence presented by the Darwin International Laksa Festival and Molly Rose Brewery. This family-friendly, free event will be held on Sunday, 7 July at Molly Rose Brewery, bringing the best of Darwin’s award-winning laksa and laksa inspired-by dishes to Melbourne and showcasing some of the very best laksa and laksa inspired-by dishes from Melbourne chefs.

As you know by now, we (Darwin) serve up some of the best laksa in Australia, and now it's Melbourne's chance to experience it first-hand! Enjoy a piping hot, deliciously creamy, and ever-so-spicy (if you like it that way!) bowl of award-winning laksa from Darwin, using top-end flavours, made by 2023 Hall of Fame recipient Jason from Chok’s Place.

Alongside these authentic Darwin Laksas, Melbourne chef’s will be serving up their take on the beautifully versatile laksa. From Chef Mischa Tropp from Toddy Shop in Fitzroy combining laksa with his South Indian style to The Molly Rose kitchen drawing from its modern Australian approach to Southeast Asian flavours, there will be inspiring tasty surprises throughout the day.

In collaboration with the festival, Molly Rose will unveil a specially brewed beer and a handcrafted gin, both to complement the rich and spicy flavours of laksa. There will also be a selection of house-made sodas available for all to enjoy.

There's also going to be some of the most popular laksa inspired-by items to try for free, including laksa sausages, arancini balls, chocolates and ice-cream.
